📋 Requirements
Before downloading takeoff measurements, make sure:
You have access to the Takeoff module
Your plans and measurements are already created
Access Download Options
Buildern allows you to download takeoff data from different areas, depending on what you need:
Plans tab - Download plans (with or without measurements)
Measurements tab - Download measurements as PDF or Excel
Drawing view (plan page) - Download plans, measurements, or current view
Let me show you how you can download plans and drawings directly from the Takeoff module in Buildern.
To start:
Open your project
Navigate to the Takeoff module
Click the Download button in the upper-right corner
This will open the Download Settings panel.
Download from the Plans Tab
When you click Download from the Plans tab, the Download PDF window opens with the Plans tab selected by default.
Buildern provides three different download options depending on what you need.
No drawings - Exports the plan without any drawings
Visible drawings - Includes only the drawings currently visible on the plan
All drawings - Includes all drawings associated with the selected plans
You can download:
A single plan
Multiple plans
Additional settings:
Show legend in PDF - Includes measurement data in the file
Include size breakdown - Adds detailed measurement calculations
Quality DPI (Dots Per Inch) - Defines the resolution of the exported PDF. Higher DPI results in better quality but larger file size
Finalize Download
Click Download to export your plans or Cancel to exit.
💡 Tip - This option is best when you need full plan exports with optional measurement visibility.
Download from the Measurements Tab
When working in the Measurements tab, you can export measurement data directly.
Download Options
Click the Download icon and choose:
Download PDF
Download Excel
Export Measurements as PDF
Export Measurements as Excel
💡 Tip - Use Excel export for reporting or further analysis.
Download from the Drawing View (Plan Page)
When working directly on a plan, you have access to the most complete set of download options.
Available Download Types
From the drawing view, you can download:
Plans
Measurements
Current view
Current View
The Current view option allows you to export exactly what is visible on your screen.
The PDF will include:
Current zoom level
Visible area of the plan
Visible drawings and measurements
💡 Tip - This option is ideal for sharing a specific section of your plan without exporting the entire drawing.
