Access the Project Overview
Buildern includes a Main Dashboard that displays aggregated metrics and insights across all projects in your account, helping you track overall performance and high-level activity.
Project-level dashboards and widgets, on the other hand, display data for a single project only. This is the main workspace where you can monitor that project’s progress, finances, and activity in detail.
To open the Project Overview:
1. Click the Projects dropdown from the main navigation.
2. Select the project you want to review.
3. Open the Overview tab from the left-side menu.

Project Overview showing dashboards and widgets for a selected project
The Project Overview includes four default dashboards, each designed for a specific role:
Main Dashboard
Client Dashboard
Fieldworker Dashboard
Sub/Vendor Dashboard
You can also create additional custom dashboards based on your needs.
When you click Add Dashboard, a pop-up opens where you can set up the new dashboard. You can select its visibility (Public, By Role, or Private), enter a name, and optionally copy settings from an existing dashboard to speed up the process. If you choose By Role, an additional field appears allowing you to select which user role can view the dashboard. Once everything is set, click Save to create it.
Main Dashboard Overview
The Main Dashboard displays key project metrics and activity, including:
Total project value
Bills summary
Client Invoices summary
Purchase orders summary
Costs
Invoices list
Bills list
Change orders summary and list
Purchase orders and subcontractors list
To-dos list
Recent files
This dashboard provides a high-level financial and operational view without navigating into individual sections.
To add widgets, click Add Widget in the upper-right corner of the dashboard and select from the available widget list.
For each widget, you can:
Drag and drop to reorder
Rename it
Adjust widget settings to control what information is shown or hidden
Duplicate it
Delete it
This allows you to tailor each dashboard to your role or workflow.
In addition to the Main Dashboard, Buildern provides role-specific dashboards designed to show only the information relevant to each user type.
Client Dashboard - Gives clients a simplified view of shared project information, such as invoices and approved documents.
Fieldworker Dashboard - Focuses on execution-level data, including tasks, daily logs, and on-site activity.
Subvendor Dashboard - Displays information related to subcontractor and vendor engagement, such as purchase orders and assigned work.
These dashboards help each role stay focused without exposure to unnecessary or sensitive data and are fully customizable. From the dashboard menu, you can adjust the layout and settings, control visibility, or reuse a dashboard as a starting point for another one.
