Configure Selection Locations
Locations identify where a selected item will be used within the project.
To assign a location:
Open the selection.
Locate the Location field.
Select existing locations from the list.
Buildern displays all locations that have been created for the project. You can select multiple locations when the same selection applies to more than one area.
To create a new location:
Click Add New at the bottom of the location list.
Enter the location name.
Save the new location.
The new location will become available for future selections within the project.
💡 Tip - Use consistent location names across your project to keep selections organized and make them easier to filter and review.
Configure Selection Categories
Categories help group similar selections together for easier organization and filtering.
To assign a category:
Locate the Category field within the selection.
Select an existing category from the list.
If the category you need does not exist, you can create it directly from the selection.
To create a new category:
Open the Category dropdown.
Click Add New.
Enter a category name.
Save the category.
The new category will become available for future selections.
ℹ️ Note - Each selection can only be assigned to one category, but the same category can be used across multiple selections.
Manage Categories and Locations
Categories and locations can also be managed from your company field settings, allowing you to standardize values across projects.
Organizing selections with categories and locations helps keep projects structured and makes it easier to track and review client decisions throughout the selection process.
This is just one of many ways Buildern helps simplify construction management.
Happy building!
