📋 Requirements
Before importing, make sure you have permission to export client data from your existing system, that your file includes essential details such as client name and email, and that your Buildern account is connected if you’re importing from accounting software.
Access the Client Import Section
1) Log in to your Buildern account
2)Go to Settings → Clients
Then click the Import button. This is the main entry point for importing clients, regardless of the source you choose.
Buildern supports importing clients from files and third-party platforms. Choose the source that matches your setup and follow the same import workflow.
When you choose the Excel/CSV import method, Buildern displays on-screen instructions to help you prepare your spreadsheet, format your data correctly, and complete the upload process successfully.
ℹ️ Note:Follow the provided steps to ensure your exported file includes all the necessary client information, particularly email addresses. Missing this can lead to import errors.
Buildern provides downloadable import templates to help structure your client data correctly before uploading.
When importing clients, you can download the Excel/CSV template directly from the import window and use it as a reference for formatting your existing data. Simply match your current client information to the columns provided in the template.
Once your file follows the same structure as the Buildern template, the system will be able to correctly recognize and import your client list.
Below the instructions, there is a drag-and-drop upload area where you can upload your file or click Upload to select it manually.
Once the file is uploaded, Buildern proceeds to the next step, where you can review and match columns before completing the import.
Click Continue to start matching sources.Once everything looks good, click Import to import your clients to Buildern.
ℹ️ Note - Depending on the file size, the import process may take a few moments to complete.
There’s more to explore in Buildern, and we’ll cover it in the upcoming tutorials.
