Select Multiple Estimate Items

To edit several estimate items at once:

Open the project you want to work on.
Navigate to the Estimates module from the left-side menu.
Use the checkboxes next to estimate items or groups to select the items you want to modify.

Once multiple items are selected, a bulk action toolbar will appear at the bottom of the page showing the number of selected items and available actions.

Bulk Actions When the Estimate Is Locked

When an estimate is locked, item values and details cannot be edited. However, Buildern still allows several actions to help you reuse estimate data.

Available actions include:

Copy to – Copy selected estimate items to another project or template.

Create – Create related documents such as bid requests or purchase orders from the selected items.

Add To – Add the selected items to another group or location within the estimate.

These options allow you to reuse estimate information without modifying the locked estimate.

Bulk Actions When the Estimate Is Unlocked

When the estimate is unlocked, additional editing options become available, allowing you to update multiple items at once.

You can perform the following actions:

Bulk Change – Modify multiple fields for selected estimate items.

Change Status – Update the status of several estimate items simultaneously.

Delete – Remove selected items from the estimate.

Bulk Change Fields

Using the Bulk Change option, you can update the following fields across multiple estimate items:

Cost Type – Change the type of cost for the selected items (for example Material, Labor, Equipment, etc.).
Cost Code – Assign or update the cost code used for cost tracking and reporting.
Group – Move selected estimate items into another group within the estimate structure.
Markup – Apply or adjust markup values for multiple items simultaneously.
Quantity – Update the quantity value for the selected items.
Unit Type – Change the measurement unit used for the items.
Unit Cost Excluding Tax – Modify the base cost of the item before taxes are applied.
Tax – Apply or change the tax configuration for the selected estimate items.
Unit Cost Including Tax – Adjust the final unit price including tax.
Visible in Proposal – Control whether the selected items will appear in the client proposal.
Visible Price – Determine whether the price of the selected items will be visible in the proposal.
Calculate in Total – Specify whether the item should be included in the total estimate calculation.
Assignee – Assign responsibility for the selected items to a team member.
