📋 Requirements
Make sure:
1. At least one project with a schedule already exists
2. You have access to the source project or template
ℹ️ Note - If you don’t have any existing projects or previously created schedules, the Copy from option will not be available.
How to Copy Schedule Items
Step 1: Open the Schedule Module
Open your project in Buildern.
Navigate to the Schedule module.
Click the + (Add Item) icon in the top-right corner.
Select Copy from from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Choose the Source Project or Template
A new window will appear where you can:
Select a Project
Or choose a Template
This is the schedule Buildern will copy items from.
Step 3: Set the New Start Date
After selecting the source define the Start Date for the new schedule.
Buildern will automatically adjust all task and milestone dates based on this new starting point while keeping the original task durations and dependencies intact.
💡 Tip: This is useful when starting a similar project at a different time but wanting to preserve the same timeline structure.
Step 4: Complete the Copy
Review your selections, And Click Copy.
You can also choose to:
Copy assignees – Keeps the same team members assigned to the copied tasks.
If unchecked, tasks will be created without assignees.
Copy attachments – Transfers all files attached to the original tasks.
If unchecked, tasks will be copied without attachments.
💡 Tip: If you’re copying from a template for a brand-new project, keeping both options enabled helps you save time and maintain structure consistency.
What Gets Copied?
When copying a schedule, Buildern transfers:
Tasks and milestones
Phases and hierarchy structure
Dependencies
Durations
Task sequencing
This ensures your new schedule maintains the same logical flow as the original one.
In upcoming articles, we’ll dive into more Buildern tools and features to help you manage your projects with ease.
Happy Building!
