Editing a Project
There are different ways to edit a project:
Directly from the Projects list
From inside the project
Both methods open the same edit form and allow you to update the same project information.
Method 1: Edit a Project from the Projects List
Start by clicking Projects in the left-hand navigation menu, then select View All Projects to open the list of existing projects.
On the Projects page, locate the project you want to edit and scroll all the way to the right. Clicking the three-dot icon (...) opens a list of available quick actions for that project without opening it.
Pin - Pins the project to the top of the Projects list, making it easier to access frequently used projects.
Change Status - Updates the project’s current lifecycle status (such as Lead, In Progress, Completed, or Archived) directly from the list view.
Duplicate - Creates a copy of the selected project. This is useful when creating similar projects and reusing existing settings.
Create Template - Converts the project into a reusable template that can be used as a starting point for future projects.
Archive - Moves the project out of active views while keeping it stored for historical reference and reporting.
Delete - Permanently removes the project from Buildern. This action cannot be undone and should be used with caution.
While most quick actions allow you to manage a project directly from the list, the Edit option opens the full project configuration view, where you can update all project details, billing settings, access, and display options.
The Edit Project page includes the same fields and sections used during project creation, such as General Info, Invoice Type, Additional Info, Access, and Cover.

ℹ️ Note: When changing the invoice type, you’ll be asked to confirm the action upon saving. Existing invoices will not be recalculated and may no longer match the new invoicing logic, so it’s important to review them for accuracy.
Once you finish making changes, click Save Changes. All updates are applied immediately and will affect the existing project data.
Method 2 : Edit a Project from Within the Project
The second option allows you to edit the project from inside the project itself. Open the project and click Overview. In the top-right corner of the project page, click the three-dot (⋯) menu to open the project actions menu.
This opens the same edit form as editing from the Projects list, allowing you to update the same project fields and settings.
ℹ️ Note: Some fields may be restricted depending on your system configuration, project status, or accounting integration.
You can edit a project at any time using either method, depending on what’s most convenient for your workflow.
In upcoming articles, we’ll dive deeper into more features and workflows in Buildern.
Happy building!
