How to Add License & Insurance Documents to a Sub/Vendor Profile in Buildern

Buildern allows you to store and manage important documents directly within each subcontractor or vendor profile. In this article, you’ll learn how to upload and manage license and insurance documents for your sub/vendors.


📋 Requirements

Before you begin, make sure:

  • The subcontractor/vendor is already added to your account


Add License & Insurance Documents

Once you're in the Sub/Vendors section:

  1. Locate the subcontractor/vendor you want to update

  2. Click the ⋯ (three dots) next to their name

  3. Select Edit

From the left-side menu, click License and insurance

This will open a dedicated page where you can manage all compliance documents.Buildern provides separate sections for different document types:

  • General Liability

  • Worker’s Compensation

  • Other

To upload files:

  1. Click Select files or drag and drop documents into the upload area

  2. Choose files from your computer

  3. Set the Expiration date if needed

💡 Tip - Set expiration dates for insurance documents to keep track of renewals and avoid working with expired coverage.

You can upload:

  • Insurance certificates

  • Business licenses

  • Any additional compliance documents

💡 Tip - Use the Other section for documents that don’t fit standard categories.


Manage Uploaded Documents

Once uploaded, you can:

  • View documents directly in the profile

  • Replace outdated files

  • Add additional documents at any time

ℹ️ Note - Documents uploaded in this section are stored per subcontractor/vendor and can be accessed across all projects where they are used.
