How to Create a New Dashboard in Buildern

Dashboards in Buildern are customizable overview pages that bring your most important project, financial, and operational data into one place.

Company vs Project Dashboards

Buildern supports two types of dashboards, depending on where they are created:

  • Dashboards created from the main Dashboard page are global dashboards. They show data across all projects and are available only in the main dashboard view.

  • Dashboards created from a project’s Overview page are project dashboards. They also display data across all projects, but are accessible only from project Overview pages and do not appear in the main dashboard view.

ℹ️ Note: Company dashboards and project dashboards are separated by design. A dashboard created in one view will not appear in the other.

Create a New Dashboard

Option 1

To create a new global dashboard, open Dashboard from the main navigation and click + Add Dashboard in the top-right corner.

Then, in the Add new Dashboard window, choose the dashboard visibility and enter a Dashboard name.

💡 Tip: Use Company dashboards when you need a high-level overview of performance across all projects, such as financial tracking, workload monitoring, or executive reporting.

Dashboard Visibility Options Explained

When creating a dashboard, you can control who has access to it:

  • Public - All users in your account can see this dashboard.

  • By Role- Only users with the selected role(s) will have access. Once this option is selected, an additional Roles field appears where you can choose one or more roles (for example, General Admin, Field Worker, or Client).

  • Private - The dashboard is visible only to you and is not shared with other users.

Copy an Existing Dashboard

To speed up setup, you can create a dashboard based on an existing dashboard or template.

Open the Copy from dropdown, select an existing dashboard or template, and the new dashboard will inherit the same layout and widgets, which you can edit later.

💡 Tip: Copying a template is the fastest way to create role-specific dashboards without starting from scratch.

Option 2

You can also create a dashboard from a project’s Overview page.

To do this, open any project, go to the Overview tab, and click + Add Dashboard in the dashboard section.

The setup process is the same as for global dashboards—you choose the dashboard visibility, name, and optional template.

ℹ️ Note: Although project dashboards are created from a specific project’s Overview page, they are not limited to that project. These dashboards are available across project Overview pages but do not appear in the main dashboard view.

After creating a dashboard, you can add widgets, rearrange them, and customize the data shown.
