How to Add and Manage Files in Buildern

The Files module in Buildern allows you to store, organize, and manage all project-related documents in one place. In this article, you will learn how to upload files to a project and manage them using Buildern’s file management tools.

Access the Files Module

To start uploading files:

  1. Open the project you want to work on.

  2. Navigate to the Files module from the left-side menu.

  3. From here you can Upload Files, Create Folder or Duplicate from another Project or Template.

Create Folder - Allows you to create folders to keep your files organized. Click Create Folder, enter the folder name, and click Save.

Upload Files - Lets you upload files directly from your computer to the project. Click Upload, select the files you want to add, and confirm the upload.

ℹ️Note- The maximum file size is 100 MB per file.

Duplicate - Allows you to copy files from another project or template into the current project, helping you reuse existing documents without uploading them again.

💡 Tip: Creating folders before uploading files helps keep project documentation organized from the start.

Manage Uploaded Files

Buildern provides several options for managing files after they are uploaded.

To manage a file:

  1. Locate the file in the Files module.

  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the file.

  3. Select the desired action.

Available actions include:

Rename – Change the file name.

Move to – Move the file to another folder.

Share – Share the file with other users.

Scan QR Code – Access the file quickly from a mobile device.

Copy to – Create a copy of the file in another project.

Download – Download the file to your device.

Delete – Move the file to the Deleted Files section.

ℹ️ Note - Currently, only the file name can be edited after uploading.

The same actions are also available when managing multiple files at once. After selecting several files, the bulk action toolbar will appear at the bottom of the page, allowing you to apply the same options to all selected files simultaneously.

Files Module Overview

When you open the Files module from the left-side project menu, you will see the main file management interface.

File Categories

At the top of the page, Buildern organizes files into three tabs:

All Files - Displays every file and folder uploaded to the project.

Favorites - Shows files that have been marked with a star for quick access.

Deleted - Contains files that have been removed but can still be recovered if needed.

💡 Tip: Click the star icon next to a file to add it to your Favorites list. Favorited files will appear in the Favorites tab for quick access.

These categories help teams quickly locate important documents and manage project files efficiently.

ℹ️ Note- Deleted files are not permanently removed immediately. When a file is deleted, it is moved to the Deleted tab where it can still be restored.

From the Deleted section, you can:

  • Restore the file to return it to the project.

  • Delete Forever to permanently remove it from the system.

Search and Selection Tools

The search bar allows you to quickly find files by name.

You can also use the Select option to choose multiple files and perform actions on them at once.

Switch Between File Views

Buildern allows you to view files in two different layouts:

List View - Displays files in a structured list with details.

Grid View - Shows files as thumbnails, which is useful for quickly previewing images.

You can switch between these views depending on how you prefer to manage your files.

In the next sections, we’ll explore other Buildern capabilities designed to support your daily tasks.

Happy Building!
