Select Items for Bulk Actions
To apply bulk actions, you first need to select one or more items.
Navigate to Cost Catalog
Open the category containing your items
Use the checkboxes on the left to select items
Once selected, a bottom action bar will appear with available options.
Bulk Edit Cost Catalog Items
Buildern allows you to update multiple fields across selected items at once.
To bulk edit items:
Click the Edit (pencil icon) in the bottom action bar
Choose the field you want to update
Available Bulk Edit Fields
Category β Moves items to a different category
Cost Type β Defines the type of cost (material, labor, etc.)
Cost Code β Assigns items to a cost code for tracking
Sub/Vendor β Sets the vendor or subcontractor
Brand β Specifies the product brand
Markup β Applies a markup percentage to the cost
Unit Type β Defines the measurement unit
Unit Cost (ex. tax) β Sets the base cost
Unit Cost (inc. tax) β Sets the cost including tax
Tax β Applies a tax rate
Visibility β Controls whether items are visible or hidden in documents and proposals
βΉοΈ Note - The selected field will be updated across all selected items.
Duplicate
You can duplicate selected items to reuse them within your catalog.
To copy items:
Select one or more items
Click the Duplicate icon in the bottom action bar
Add Items to an Estimate
You can quickly send catalog items directly to an estimate.
To add items to an estimate:
Select one or more items
Click the Copy to icon
Choose Estimate
The selected items will be added to your estimate.
Delete Items
If certain items are no longer needed, you can remove them from the catalog.
To delete items:
Select one or more items
Click the Delete (trash icon) in the bottom action bar
Confirm the action
βΉοΈ Note β The Buildern Catalog is a system-provided catalog that is locked by default. While you can use its items when creating estimates, you cannot edit, delete, or restructure this catalog. To customize items, create your own catalog or copy items into a new one.
