Daily Log Client View

Buildern allows you to share Daily Logs / Site Diaries with clients to provide real-time project updates without giving them platform access. In this article, you’ll learn how log sharing and visibility work in Buildern.

Sharing a Daily Log/ Site Diary During Creation or Editing

Daily Logs can be shared directly while they are being created or updated.

To do this:

  1. Navigate to the Daily Logs / Site Diary section within a project

  2. Create a new log or open an existing one for editing

  3. Complete the required fields of the log

  4. At the bottom of the form, enable the “Share with Client” option

  5. Click Save

Once saved, the Daily Log is instantly shared with the client, making the update available without any additional steps. At the same time, Buildern automatically sends an email notification to the client, informing them that a new log has been shared.

The email includes a direct access link, allowing the client to open and review the log in a clean, read-only format, without needing to log in or navigate within the platform.

Sharing a Daily Log from the List View

Daily Logs can also be shared after creation directly from the log list.

To share an existing log:

  1. Go to the Daily Logs / Site Diary list view

  2. Locate the required log entry

  3. Click the three-dot (⋯) actions menu at the end of the row

  4. Select

After sharing, the client is automatically notified via email and receives a direct link to access the log in read-only mode - no additional setup is required.

As an alternative, you can use bulk actions to share multiple logs at once. Simply select the relevant logs from the list view, choose the Share option from the bulk edit menu, and apply the changes.

All selected logs will be shared with the client, and notifications will be sent accordingly.

Tracking Shared Logs

To monitor which logs have been shared with clients, use the “Shared with client” column in the Daily Logs list.

Instead of opening each entry individually, you can quickly scan the list to see what has already been shared, helping you stay organized and avoid missing updates.

Adding Watchers to Daily Logs

In addition to client sharing, Daily Logs support internal tracking through Watchers.

Watchers can be added to individual logs to ensure internal stakeholders remain informed.

To add Watchers to a Daily Log:

  1. Go to the Daily Logs / Site Diary list view

  2. Find the required log entry

  3. Click the three-dot (⋯) actions menu at the end of the row

  4. Select Watchers from the dropdown

  5. Choose the users you want to add as Watchers

Once added, Watchers will automatically receive notifications whenever updates are made to the log. This ensures internal stakeholders stay informed in real time, without needing manual updates or follow-ups.

ℹ️ Note - Watchers do not affect client visibility. They are strictly used for internal coordination and progress tracking.

Every project starts with the right tools - and we’ll keep exploring them together in the next videos.

Happy building!
