Set Up Geofencing on Mobile For iOS
Follow the steps below to enable location access and use geofencing on your iOS device:
1. Enable Location Services
1. Open Settings on your iPhone
2. Go to Privacy & Security
3. Tap Location Services
4. Turn Location Services ON
2. Enable Motion & Fitness Tracking
In Settings, scroll down and tap Privacy & Security
Select Motion & Fitness
Enable Fitness Tracking
3. Open Buildern and Access Timesheets
Open the Builder app
Tap Timesheets from the bottom menu
Tap Create Timesheet
Select the Project
Tap Continue
When prompted, allow the following permissions:
Precise Location
Always Location Access
Motion & Fitness Acces
Tap Allow Always Location Access to continue.
ℹ️ Note - Location access must be set to Always for geofencing to work correctly in the background.
Set Up Geofencing on Mobile For Android
Mirror the same flow:
1. Enable Location Services
Open Phone Settings and Locate Builder App
Open App Permissions
2. Enable Background Location Access
3. Open Buildern and Access Timesheets
Open the Builder app
Tap Timesheets from the bottom menu
Tap Create Timesheet
Select the Project
Tap Continue
When prompted, allow the following permissions:
Precise Location
Always Location Access
Motion & Fitness Acces
Tap Allow Always Location Access to continue.
ℹ️ Note - Depending on your Android device manufacturer (Samsung, Xiaomi, Pixel, etc.), permission names and locations may slightly vary.

To get the most out of geofencing:
Set an appropriate radius (Min 200 meters)
Clearly communicate usage and expectations to your team
Use geofencing for high-traffic or critical job sites
Regularly review attendance and activity reports
