📋 Requirements
Before you begin, make sure:
You have access to Buildern.
You have permission to manage Clients.
You have access to your Buildertrend account.
Export Clients from Buildertrend
To import clients from Buildertrend:
Navigate to People > Clients.
2. Click Import in the top-right corner.
3. Select Buildertrend from the list of available import sources.
The Import Clients Excel/CSV from Buildertrend window will appear.
Export Clients from Buildertrend
Before uploading the file, you must first export your client list from Buildertrend.
In Buildertrend, navigate to Customer Contacts.
Click the three-dot menu at the bottom of the page and select Manage Saved Views.
Update the view to include the Email column and any other client information you want to import.
Click Export and save the file to your computer.
Upload the Buildertrend File
Return to Buildern.
In the Import Clients Excel/CSV from Buildertrend window, click Upload or drag and drop the exported file into the upload area.
Select the exported Buildertrend file.
Wait for the upload to complete.
Review each column and verify that it is mapped to the correct Buildern field.
Click Import.
ℹ️ Note - Make sure the exported Buildertrend file includes the Email column. Missing required fields may prevent some client records from being imported successfully.
Buildern will automatically create client records using the information contained in the uploaded file.
