Submit a Bid Response Manually
Follow the steps below to add a response on behalf of a vendor:
1. Open the Bid Request
Go to your project
Navigate to the Bid Requests / RFQs section
Open the relevant bid request
2. View Offers
Click View Offers
A window will open showing all submitted bids
3. Submit Manually
Click Submit Manually
Fill in Bid Response Details
When submitting a bid manually, you need to complete the following fields:

Sub/Vendor - Select the vendor for whom you are submitting the bid
Cost Lines - Each row represents a requested item from the bid request:
Name / Cost Item – Predefined item from the request
Quantity – Fixed quantity requested
Unit Price – Enter the vendor’s price per unit
Tax – Select applicable tax
Amount – Calculated automatically based on quantity and price
Amounts Are - Define how tax is applied:
Inclusive – Tax is included in the unit price
Exclusive – Tax is added on top of the unit price
No Tax – No tax is applied
Totals - Buildern calculates values automatically:
Subtotal – Total before tax
Tax – Total tax amount
Total – Final bid amount
Comments
Add notes related to the bid
Attach files if needed (e.g., quotes, documents)
Final Actions
Once all details are completed:
Click Submit to save and add the bid response
Click Cancel to exit without saving
View Submitted Bid Responses
Once a bid response is submitted, it will appear in the Bid Request Responses list.
Each submitted response includes:
Status – Displayed as Submitted
Submission date – When the bid was added
Total amount – Final calculated bid value
View icon (👁️) – Click to open and review full bid details
This allows you to easily track, review, and compare all vendor responses in one place.
Buildern let you easily compare submitted bids side by side using the Compare tab.
In the Compare view, all submitted bids are displayed in a structured format, allowing you to evaluate vendors more efficiently.
You can compare:
Vendors – Each column represents a different vendor
Cost Lines – See pricing for each item across vendors
Unit Prices – Compare how each vendor priced individual items
Totals – Review subtotal, tax, and total amounts side by side
💡 Tip- Use the Compare view together with attachments and comments to fully evaluate each bid before making a decision.
