Why Is a Schedule Important?
A schedule is the foundation of your project. It helps you organize tasks in the right order, set realistic timelines, assign responsibilities, track progress, and prevent delays. Without a clear schedule, projects can easily fall behind or go over budget.
How to Add a Schedule in Buildern
To get started, open the project you want to work on and click on the Schedule module from the left-side menu.
From there, you can create a new schedule by adding items manually or import an existing schedule.
You have two options:
Add Item – Create schedule tasks from scratch.
Import – Bring in a schedule from another application or copy it from another project or template.
Option 1: Add Schedule Items Manually
If you want to build your schedule from scratch click Add Item.
You will see two options:
Task – Used for regular work activities with start and end dates.
Milestone – Used for key project checkpoints with no duration.
Choose the appropriate option to proceed with the next steps. Once selected, a panel will open on the right side where you can enter and manage the item details.
On the right-side panel, you can enter the task details:
Basic Information
1. Task Name – Enter the name of the task.
2. Completion % – Update the progress percentage of the task.
3. Assignees – Choose the team members responsible for the task.
4. Start Date, Duration and End dates – Set the start date and define the duration (the end date will calculate automatically if applicable).
5. Color – Select a color to easily identify the task in the Gantt chart.
6. Label – Categorize the task using labels. You can create a new label from the dropdown if needed.

Additional Options
You can further enhance your task by using the following features:
Reminders – Set notifications to stay on track.
Description – Add detailed information about the task.
Internal Notes – Include private notes visible only to your team.
Attachments – Upload files related to the task.
ℹ️ Note: If you select Milestone instead of Task, the start date, end date, and duration fields will not appear, since milestones represent a single point in time with no duration.
When you scroll down in the task panel, you’ll find more options to further organize and manage your task.
To-Dos - separate actionable items that can be linked to a task. When you click Add New To Do, you are redirected to the To-Dos module. This helps keep execution-level actions organized while maintaining a clear project schedule structure.

Calendar – By default, the task follows the project’s default calendar. Click Change if you need to assign a different calendar (for example, a custom working schedule).
Comments – Use the comments section to communicate with your team directly within the task.
You can:
Type and send messages
Attach files to comments
Keep all task-related communication in one place
These features help improve collaboration and ensure that all important details are documented within the task.
Option 2: Import a Schedule
Click Import to bring in an existing schedule.
You’ll have two ways to import:
Import from Another Application
Buildern allows you to import schedules from external software.Regardless of which software you select - detailed instructions will be provided to guide you through the process.
You will also have access to a Schedule Template, which includes an example of the correct column structure.
Copy from Another Project or Template
You can also duplicate a schedule from:
An existing Buildern project
A saved project template
The full schedule structure will be copied into your current project.
After completing all required fields, click Save to create the task. It will then be displayed in the Gantt Chart, List, and Calendar views.
